Privacy Policy

SmileLock

This privacy policy explains how SmileLock ("the App") handles user information.

1. Basic Policy

The App does not collect personal information (name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, etc.). It has no server of its own and no user accounts. Everything the App records stays on your device. There are no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third parties receiving your data.

2. Camera and Face Data

The App uses the front camera to detect a smile. Detection runs through Apple's ARKit face tracking framework on the device itself.

3. Smile Logs

Each successful smile check is recorded on your device with the date and time, the two scores, which flow triggered it, and whether you chose not to open the app afterwards. These records power the History screen.

4. Screen Time (Family Controls)

To switch a locked app to a smile check after overuse, SmileLock uses Apple's Screen Time frameworks (FamilyControls, ManagedSettings, DeviceActivity) with .individual authorization, meaning you are managing your own device.

5. Notifications

The App sends local notifications to guide you back to the smile check after overuse. They are generated on your device. No push server is involved and no device token leaves your phone.

6. Network Communication

The App has no backend. It does not send or receive data over the network, apart from the standard communication Apple's own frameworks perform.

7. Purchases

The App is free and offers no in-app purchases.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for users managing their own device and is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as the App changes. The date below shows the latest revision.
