SmileLock
Smile before you scroll.
Your face goes blank while you scroll, and an hour disappears. SmileLock puts a three second smile check between you and the apps you open too often. The smile resets your expression, and the pause gives you a moment to ask whether you really wanted to open that app.
After you smile, SmileLock asks once more: open it, wait five minutes, or don't open it at all. The time you saved by not opening sits at the top of the History screen, with the number of times you declined right below it.
- Two moments ask for a smile: when you open an app, and when you have used it too long.
- Three seconds in front of the camera. Mouth and eyes both have to smile. Nothing is recorded.
- One more question before you go in: open it, wait five minutes, or stop.
- Time saved and the times you did not open sit at the top of the History screen.
How it works
- Open a locked app and SmileLock asks for a smile first
- Keep using it and a smile check appears to suggest a break
- Smiles are detected on the device with ARKit face tracking. Nothing is recorded
- Streaks and charts show how the habit is changing
